If you like riding and are ready for a different type of experience come and join this program. You will be part of the LAS ARTES ENDURANCE COUNTRY CLUB COMPETITION TEAM and participate in a comprehensive training clinic and participate in an actual 40 km Endurance race in Argentina.
Endurance is about speed and does not only evaluate the horse's resistance when covering long distances but also the riders strategy as to how to lead his horse.
The horse's performance on different types of terrain and natural obstacles is significant in order to determine its fitness and the rider's horsemanship. Both rider and horse have to be in excellent physical condition since there is nothing worse for a tired horse than a tired rider.
An Endurance competition is organized in several laps or phases. At the end of each phase there is a veterinary check (the so called Vet Check) and a retention time (the retention starts when the horse's heart rate is 56 ppm or lower; until then the racing time continues). A 40 km race has 2 phases, the first one of about 25 km and the second of 15 km, but this varies each race.
We invite you to participate on a training clinic and participate on an actual 40 km race of the official Endurance calendar of the Argentina Equestrian Federation.

General: This is one of the few sports where you can participate on the main competition. Las Artes competes as a team and you are supposed to be willing to integrate it and follow the guidelines of your host. We race as a group, supporting us each other. The objective is that all arrive the final. In a normal race, almost 50 % of the racers completes the race (the others are disqualified in the vet checks).
Experience: You are expected to be a rider who has a firm seat, is confident and in control at all paces (including posting trots, two point canters and gallops), is comfortable in the saddle for at least 6 hours per day. You have soft hands and are capable of handling a spirited horse in open country.
You are also very respectful of the horse and of the rest of the group and understand that the objective is to complete the race with the horse "fit for the next race", more than the actual place in the results listing.
Horses: Las Artes` horses are all pure Arabians
Weight limit: Endurance sport has a lower level of weight limit being this 70 kg including saddle and riding gear (if lower supplement weight is added). The upper limit depends of the horse, in this case you are supposed to be less than 85 kg.
